The new secretary of state, to the new Prez ...

Hmmm...

I am not too impressed by the new secretary of state. Israel has a right to defend itself. Alright. No one is likely to dispute that, if they don't know any history, and don't take religious scrolls as authentic records of history. I am not anti-Jewish or anything like that.

Well, some countries, and some people are created more equal.

Burkha Dutt...

I seem to be bitching about others more than I should be. This post is no exception.

I do not like Burkha Dutt. I don't hate her. But I just don't like her.

I just can't stand any of the programs that she presents.

I am not sure what is it about her that pisses me off so badly.

Palestine...

What's happening in Gaza is unfortunate. I do not know the real reasons or motives behind the current offensive. But any war or conflict leaves more scars behind, and pushes further away any chance of reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.

I do not love Palestinians more. I do not hate the Jewish either. But can this not be resolved?

A few days back happened to watch on Asianet a public meeting organized by some political party in Kerala to condemn Israel on the attacks. Pictures of Yasser Arafat were prominently displayed, but from whatever I know and read, Arafat was one of the worst things to happen to the people of Palestine. But outside of Palestine, he was probably the only recognizable face of the Palestinian struggle.

Dr. Rice and Duh Bush...

I don't hate many things. Most of the things that I hate happens to be the politician or the diplomat type. Indian as well as international.

Currently topping my list are Dr. Rice and Duh Bush.

What a disgrace to the human race! Both of them.

Waiting for January 20th, to shout "Good riddance".

Right to privacy...

I do not have any serious thoughts on the Abhaya case that is hotly debated back in my home state (of Kerala). I mean, for the simple reason that I do not know. But it really felt bad to see the way some of the fundamental human rights of one of the accused (Sister Stefy) have been violated, both by the investigating agency and by the news media. I have no clues about the Indian law or the Indian constitution and what rights are conferred on any citizen of the country.

Up close and personal...

Name of an English movie, hope I do not get sued for using the same name... :-)
